Packaging for Russia and Long Cold Transit

Russia and some CIS lanes mean long dwell, cold soaks, and paperwork that can stall a load. LDPE bubble and EPE foam used in normal ranges remain flexible well below freezing compared with some other foams, but pallets still fail from wrap pattern and crush — not from a marketing “winter grade.” We quote when the buyer can receive the goods. Banking, sanctions screening, and routing are stated on the commercial documents, not guessed in a blog post.

Cold and film

Stretch film cling can change in deep cold. Test wrap in the temperature the pallet will actually see. Do not assume a thicker film is a winter spec.

Cushioning

Longer transit usually means more handling. Foam at edges plus bubble wrap is the conservative stack for fragile goods. Metal parts may need anti-rust film if condensation appears when the container warms.

Send the SKU, destination, and whether payment will be advance or LC. If we cannot complete the route, we will decline the PO rather than take money we cannot fulfil.
